What is the relevance of feminism today? What issues are at stake in the 21st century? This video explores the tough challenges facing women and girls: safety, health and equal opportunities. Did you know? 1 in 3 women will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. 1 in 5 college-aged women has an eating disorder. Only 3-5% of senior mangement positions in the U.S. are held by women. Viewers will meet an impressive array of activists tackling issues of profound social importance with a passion for justice. Through their courageous visions and diverse voices, we are transported to the front lines of the feminist movement: from high school and college classrooms, to childcare and community centers, to the halls of the legislature. Taking on the critical issues of our time-violence against women and girls, repro-ductive health and motherhood, athletic equity, harmful media images, employment oppor-tunities, electing women to office - this video demystifies feminism.
