In the turbulent Sixties, television beams baseball nationwide. Sandy Koufax, Carl Yastrzemski and Bob Gibson become household names, and Roger Maris breaks The Babe's home run record. The Pittsburgh Pirates win the series in 1960 and the Yankee dynasty begins to show signs of fading. The hapless New York Mets try to win former Dodgers and Giants fans, and find fame in failure. Politics abound, as players finally succeed in forming a labor union after a century of effort. Expansion, race changes and new stadiums promise to make the sport "A Whole New Ballgame."
