Pianist Aldo Ciccolini has been in continual demand to perform with the great orchestras of the world. In this rare taped concert appearance, Aldo Ciccolini performs a selection of works by Schubert, Chopin and Ravel.
Aldo Ciccolini started studying the piano and composition with Paolo Denzaet at the Naples Conservatory and graduated with first prize. In 1949, he obtained his first grand prize at the Marguerite Long Competition. Since that time, Aldo Ciccolini has played with the best conductors of the 20th century, including Wilhelm Furtwängler, Dimitri Mitropoulos, Pierre Monteux, Erich Kleiber, Charles Münch, Sergiu Celibidache and many others.
