The first uncut performance of Berlioz's opera at the Met, this production tells the story of the capture of Troy by the Greeks, and of the love of Dido and Aeneas.

Performers: Tatiana Troyanos (Dido, Queen of Carthage), Jessye Norman (Cassandra), Placido Domingo (Aeneas), Allan Monk (Coroebus), Paul Plishka (Narbal) ; Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Chorus, and Ballet ; James Levine, conductor.

Recorded on October 8, 1983 at the Metropolitan Opera.

In French with German, English, Spanish and Chinese subtitles.
