Chicano poet, essayist, and children's book writer Gary Soto was born and raised in Fresno, California. Mr. Soto has published six poetry collections, including Home Course in Religion, Who Will Know Us?, and The Elements of San Joaquin. He read from his New and Selected Poems in Los Angeles on May 2, 1995, and talked with Alejandro Morales.
