Each program contains case studies which characterize an individual region. Ivory Coast, the Legacy of Colonialism explores the history and current economic development of the Ivory Coast. Gabon, a Future in Oil? analyzes a failed attempt at economic growth and a poorly developed infra-structure in Gabon, who's future may lie in petroleum development. Kenya, Understanding Sickness investigates the roots of disease in Kenya. South Africa, This Land is My Land examines the new land-reform policies in post-apartheid South Africa.
