American Cowboys is a documentary about Jackson Sundown, a Nez Perce Indian, and George Fletcher, an African American, two legendary bronco riders who broke the color barriers in the rodeo arena in the early 20th century. Rare archival footage shows competitions involving the two men at the 1911 and 1916 Pendleton Round-Up, interspersed with interviews regarding their achievements. Narrated by William Hurt.
