THE OREGON STORY: “Water” examines what is perhaps our most precious resource. Most of us think of Oregon as having abundant water supplies, but that is not the case. Every year the state's water supply falls far short of the demands placed on it. In dry years, the shortages can be dramatic, leading to extensive crop losses, damage to fish runs and disruption of the economy.
This documentary explores both the history of water allocation around the state and how society's demands upon it have changed over time. You'll see examples of water-based problems and conflicts, and meet some of the people who are leading the way in efficient usage and water conservation.
