For many people Earth Day used to conjure up images of people with long hair and tie-dyed shirts. Not any more. Most Americans feel that the air and water is dirtier than it was before. More than 50% of the country lives in polluted areas above the standards set by the U.S. Government. Most people agree that help won't come from the government or from big business. We must take care of the earth ourselves. This program focuses on several areas in the United States where people are fighting for the future and the future of generations to come.
