Oregon Bioregions: Preserving Our Natural Diversity

40 min
QH105 .O7 W555 2006 DVD

Ecoregions offer a powerful way to explore the natural history, cultural values, and management challenges for Oregon's unique wildlife and native plant habitats.

Ecoregion boundaries are boundaries that nature has drawn: they can help us gain a broader understanding of the ecological, biological, and social issues surrounding Oregon's unique ecosystem.

This pilot program explores two of those ecoregions: the Willamette Valley and Coast Range; and focuses on several unique plants and animals that are under pressure from invasive species, habitat alteration, and human activities. Though the voices of scientists, land managers, Native Americans, landowners, and students, these stories highlight the work that is ongoing to protect and restore these environments.

Distributed by Foresty Media Center, Oregon State University and the Bureau of Land Management.
