Red Drum, also known as Red Fish or Channel Bass, has been depleted because of overfishing in the Gulf and Southeast states waters. Because of the depletion of the species and the high demand for this type of fish, the concept of the commercial raising is being implemented to try to reintroduce the species to the area.
