    I may say that in particular I agree with you about introducing matrices, though perhaps not matrix mechanics in a general way. Also, I agree that something needs to be done about the section on perturbation theory; Martin and I have talked about this already.

Platt, Physics Dept., University of Rochester, to LP RE: Platt and his students have been exploring the possibility of building a large aperture bent mica x-ray spectrograph for the determination of wavelengths of mesonic x-rays. Would not require high resolution, but would require high luminosity. They have read LP's article on the structure of micas and related minerals which appeared in the 1930 Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Wonders if the observed and calculated intensities of reflection which LP gives for fuchsite are for the Cu K-alpha wavelength. Wonders what LP used for a Debye temperature of fuchsite. Would appreciate any information regarding what orders of reflection at which wavelengths give high reflection coefficients for mica.
