  • LP gives a commencement lecture at CIT entitled The Scientific Outlook on Life. It discusses the benefit of skeptical thinking - not only in science, but in politics and other activities as well. He gives an example of education from early in the 1900's from Spain. Then goes on to discuss his displeasure with the Congressional investigating committees. He states that it is illegal to attempt to overthrow the government, but not to question and disagree. Class Day Address, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California.
