  • LP attends the Ninth Triennial Conference, Institut International de Chimie Solvay, Brussels, Belgium. [Filed under LP Speeches: 1953s]
  • Letter from M.S. Sundaram, Embassy of India, to LP RE: Invitation for LP to attend the 41st Session of the Indian Science Congress, scheduled for the first week of January 1954. In addition, the Embassy is hopeful that LP will stay an additional 4 to 6 weeks and visit various Indian Universities. [Reply from LP to Sundaram 5-13-53].
  • Letter from Jacob L. Holtzmann of the U. of the State of New York RE: finds that LP is also to receive an award of the Newspaper Guild in New York on 4-17-53. Invites LP and AHP as their guests at dinner at the Hotel Astor before the presentation of the awards. [note in pencil at bottom: "Acceptance given to Mr. Holtzmann's secy. via phone 4/16. B Salaman.   • Letter from W. J. Wiswesser to LP RE: requests visiting with LP during April as he is now interested in the problem of developing linear descriptions for all kinds of molecular structures. Goes on to describe his interests and work. Sends a copy of the first outline of a manual T. Y. Crowell hopes to publish that year. [letter of response from BW to Dr. Wiswesser 4-13-53].
