  • Letter from LP to Dr. Henry C. Thomas, Yale University, RE: Is pleased to accept the invitation to lecture at Yale in spring of 1953. He tentatively chooses dates of 4-17-53, 4-20-53, and 4-21-53 for lectures. Mentions that the topic would be the structures of proteins and nucleic acids, which has not yet been published.   • Letter from LP to Professor H.H. Weber, Physiologisches Institut, RE: Would be pleased to speak as much as possible on the upcoming trip to Europe to participate in a protein conference. Mentions his intentions of purchasing an automobile with AHP and touring Europe in it. States that he has not been working on the protein problem for the past two months, but has instead concentrated on the structure of nucleic acids.   • Letter from LP to Dr. Bernard E. Schaar RE: writes to congratulate him for receiving the 1952 Honor Scroll Award of the Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Chemists.

  • Memo from R.V. Bartz to LP RE: R.V. Bartz feels that Dow Chemical Company would make a good Industrial Associate. Would like LP to send them information about Caltech, as he has the best contacts within the company. There is a pencil note at the bottom of the page that says "Edgar Clay Midland, Mich."
