  • Letter from LP to Dr. Adrien Albert RE: Sorry to inform that LP will not be able to meet with Dr. Albert on the proposed date because LP will be away in Brussels for the Solvay Congress. Asks that Dr. Albert still visit the California Institute and give a seminar talk. Thanks for the book on cranberra. [Dr. Albert letter 1-7-52]
  • Letter from Dr. S. G. Smith of the British Cotton Industry Research Association to LP RE: Writes that they are interested in the development of their helix structure of proteins. Requests a reprint of his forthcoming paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science of the U.S.A. as well as copies of his previous papers. Their interest in proteins concerns their work on silk fibroin. [letter of response from LP to Dr. Smith 1-20-53].
  • Letter from LP to Mr. Wm. Trnka RE: in response to Mr. Trnka's suggestion, LP informs him that Cal Tech does not carry out the kind of work that he discussed in his letter. [letter from Mr. Trnka to LP 1-10-53].
  • AHP writes cheque to: A. A. Heist Trustee amount: $5.00
  • Letter from LP to Prof. William Lipscomb RE: discusses a problem of Prof. Lipscomb's that was introduced to him by "Verner" about (NO)2 in that spectroscopic data indicate the absence of a center of symmetry, and that Prof. William Lipscomb's x-ray data require the presence of a center of symmetry. Goes on to write his theories about the problem. [letter from Prof. William N. Lipscomb to LP 4-8-53] [Filed under LP Correspondence: Box #174 (Lipscomb, William N.)].
  • Letter from LP to Herman von Schelling RE: in response to Dr. von Schelling's letters, writes that he has been busy working on the structure of nucleic acids, which has distracted him from being able to check on Dr. von Schelling's curves in relation to their representation problem of compound helixes. [letter from Dr. H. von Schelling to LP 11-19-52] [Filed under LP Correspondence: Box #349 (Von Schelling, Hermann)].
