  • Letter from J.H. Highberger, United Shoe Machinery Corporation to LP RE: will not be able to attend the 4-22-52 meeting of the Protein Substitutes Group, but Dr. Wiederhorn will take his place. [Filed under LP Science: 13.018].
  • Letter from Dr. R. Byron Bird to LP RE: encloses an itemized expense account in the letter from his recent visit to Cal Tech. Plans to make his final decision regarding his next year's work before Easter. Would appreciate word from Cal Tech before then. Sends his regards to several folks at Cal Tech.   • Letter from LP to Prof. T. E. King of Dept. of Chem. at OSU RE: writes that he is sorry but it is not possible for him to go to Corvallis at the time of the June meeting.   • Letter from LP to Mr. J. A. Beek, Secretary of the Senate RE: thanks him for his letter and the book "The California Legislature." Huggins RE: in response to Dr. Huggins' letter, does not recommend that he publish his letter about proposed protein structures without a precise description of the proposed structure. In particular mentions the 11-atom ring helix. Goes on to critique Dr. Huggins' manuscript which he sent to LP in his previous letter.
