- Letter from Charles M. Grossman, M.D. to LP RE: Requests information about Guggenheim Fellowships. His colleague, James D.
Hauschildt, is helping them with their research, but is unable to obtain further support. Was wondering if LP thought that
Mr. Hauschildt would be eligible for a fellowship. Their current work is concerned with incorporation of radioactive glycine
into protein using human liver slices and human colon mucosa. [letter of response from LP to Mr. Grossman 3-5-52].
- Letter from Dr. H. Kacser to LP RE: writes in connection with the letter and MS that he sent to LP 1-25-52. Explains his action in sending the British Empire's Cancer Campaign an application giving LP's department as a possible
place that he would hold a possible fellowship. He just didn't want to miss a possible opportunity. [letter from LP 2-21-52].
- Note from Prof. F. E. Malherbe to LP RE: thanks LP for the letter of 12-19-51. Comments on some aspects of LP's catalog. Asks
LP to give him examples of Cal Tech's methods of study, and also requests copies of the mimeographed notes used by Prof. Bates
and Badge in conjunction with certain chemistry courses. [related memo from LP to Prof. Bates 3-11-52, letter of response from LP to Prof. Malherbe 4-4-52].
