Dear Mamma,
How are you? I'm ok. Today I got the post card with a picture of an airplane on it. Will
you please send the ten bucks for class dues or a check? Tommy Midgley is getting anxious and
asked that all the borders bring it this weekend. I can't, so do the above. Please. Rolls Royce
engines are noted for their power they are good engines. What kind of plane was it? On
Monday evening (it will leave Tues. morn.) I will not write after that because we'll see you
before you would get a letter. Tomorrow I will go home!! Oh I can hardly wait until I go! Linda
was complaining in her last letter that she did not have any money. I think she got my letter
today or will get it tomorrow. Gotta go,
Love,
Crelly

Dear Mom,
How are you? I am OK. On Friday I got the "Folkard" you mailed Halloween. On
Friday (next) I will be at the airport with Pete to pick you up. The Chadwicks said I could come
home on that weekend. I got my laundry done at the Coxes yesterday. Their washer does a
wonderful job. This will be my next to the last letter. I will mail one Tues. (write it Mon.
evening) to you in care of Dr. David E. Green, 1702 University Avenue
Madison, Wis.
This morning I put leaflets on peoples doorsteps advertising Esterman and Spears (I was helping
Chas Cox). While doing so I met I. H. Spears. He is running for #47 assembly. He is a negroe
but that doesn't make any diff. I gotta go to bed.
Love,
Crelly

Dear Mamma,
How are you? I am ok. To-day I got two letters from you from Philadelphia and a post
card from some-place in New York. I also got a letter from Linda. No, you didn't tell me Sue
was sick. What is the matter with her? It is too bad. I am feeling fine now. I do like my new
roommate better. Dunno when I would get work done if I came with you. You won't have time
to come and see me at [?] but I thought you could work it with Commander Chadwick that I come
home that weekend. If I don't come home (which is improbable) Sat. the 11, would be better
because I get up at 6:30, eat breakfast at 7, start work at 8, finish at 10:30. I might be able to get
lunch away so we could go some where. On Sunday we have vespers which takes over an hour
(getting ready takes a half an hour and vespers starts at 5). My Xmas list: 2 sweaters, 1 of them
navy, the other some nice color of your choice. Be sure to get them large enough. I'd like a nice
leather bound dictionary (a good one). Other wise I can't think of much more so anything you
think I will like. What do you want for Xmas? When I go home over the weekend I think I will
spend Friday nite at the Coxes and Sat. nite at home. I gotta get ready for dinner soon. I am
going to write Linda tonite and Peter Busch and Peter Pauling.
Gotta go,
Love,
Crelly

Dear Mom,
How are you? I'm ok. Today I received your "Folkard" with a picture of your hotel in
Ottawa on it. This morning I wrote a letter to Linda, a letter to Doug, and a letter to Pete Busch.
I know that you will not get this letter until Sunday but no other addresses were given until
Sunday's. Do you speak French to many people? I will not write you on Friday but will send a
letter to the Drake at Chicago on Sat. morning. Never mind writing Commander about me
coming home on the weekend you come home, because Minnie and I can work it. Today is
Hallow'een! WE get off of some of Study Hall (1 ½ hours, to be exact) to go to some shindig. I
tore one of my new T-shirts a little bit, but I can sew it up if I want to. Can you read my writing?
Danny (my English teacher) can't. I weigh 110 lbs. and I am 5 ft. 4 in. tall. Is Linda 5 ft. 7 in.?
If so, I think that by the end of the school year, I will be taller than she is. My 110 lbs. makes me
on the highest limit for the B basketball team. On Thanksgiving, let's go up to [Chalao?]. I gotta
go get ready for dinner.
Have fun, cherie,
Love,
Crelly

Dear Parents,
How are you? I'm ok. Today I got the "Folkard" from Ottawa showing the
Interprovincial Bridge at Ottawa. Last nite the faculty staged "MacBeth." It was very good.
Yes, Pete comes to see me and he "bringed" Daphne. I am feeling fine now. I like my roommate
better than my old one. Have you ever been in Canada before? The beavers must of been very
interesting. Did you take any pictures of the beavers? Did you take many nice pictures? Is the
food good? One of the boys asked to let me let him ride my [??]. My face is quite good now.
When I write you I feel like I am talking to you. My roommate feels bad now. Idon't know
what is the matter with him. Day after tomorrow I go home. I will write tomorrow (it will leave
Fri.) To the Drake. Gotta go now.
Love,
Crellie

Dear Mamma,
Because I do not have your addresses yet, I will write today's letter and tomorrow's letter
and send them in the same envelope. The package will come tomorrow, I'm sure. I received
your telegram this morning. I was very surprised to get. The reason the address is spelled wrong
on my last letter is because I asked Minnie and she did not know how to spell it. I am waiting to
take a shower. Now I just took it. I am ready for dinner. Dinner is in 35 mins. My tummy ache
is well. I think that it is going to rain here tonight. When your itinerary comes, I will write
tomorrow's letter tomorrow evening and send it to your first place in Canada. I will go now.
Love,
Crelly
P.S. I will write tomorrow.

Dear Mom and Pop,
This letter is an answer to your letters of Nov.3 and Nov. 4 and also is the last letter that I
shall write to you because I will see you before you would get another letter. Yes, our class dues
are $10.00. I presume that you have mailed it by now. I am OK. I sent a letter to Guelph at the
[Communith?] House, and you say you did not get it. I had a wonderful time at home this
weekend. Yes, I like my roommate. No, his father is not an architect. He is an M.D. I will
meet you at the airport on Friday. I am getting along fine in school. English makes a little better
sense, but not much. I didn't go to the folk-dance because Doug Cox didn't want to. He acted in
an opera on Sunday. I didn't see it. Mrs. Chadwick and Pierre thanked me for your greetings
and said the same to you. I got an A- on an Anc. Hist. It P.O.D. me [?]. I should of had an A.
There, I just finished my ice cream sandwich. I will see you on Fri. I gotta go.

Dear Mom,
How are you? How was your plane trip? What airlines did you go on? Will you write to
me everyday? I will write you every day.
This morning I changed roommates. Now I room with Bob Coates. I wanted so much to
go with you on this trip, but I didn't ask you ‘cause I knew that the chances were nil. My tummy
ache is better, but I do not have much of an appetite.
Minni will not believe that I have a tummy ache. She says that I was just trying to get to come
home and see you.
What time this morning did the plane leave? I might not write tomorrow because I
probably will not get your itinerary till Thursday. Will you be back on Nov. 10? On that day
Chadwick plays Flintridge at Flintridge. I was thinking that I could go to the game and you
could come also and I would see you but maybe it would be better if you came down and saw me
for a longer time. After I mail this letter, I will read my new Readers' Digest.
Much Love,
Crelly
