The Limited Test Ban Treaty at 50: Perspectives on Impact

The Limited Test Ban Treaty went into effect in October of 1963. To mark the 50th anniversary of this treaty, Tim Naftali, National Security Fellow at the New America Foundation and former Director of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library, will join Jacob Darwin Hamblin, Christopher McKnight Nichols, and Joseph Orosco of the OSU School of History, Philosophy, and Religion to talk about the history of the Limited Test Ban Treaty and its impact from social, military, and environmental perspectives. At 4pm, browse a special selection of primary sources related to the LTBT from the collections of the Special Collections & Archives Research Center, learn to fold origami peace cranes, and view our new exhibit, entitled Activism in Action!: Voices from the Collections. At 5pm, hear these leading scholars discuss the LTBT in a roundtable discussion. Part of the series, "1963-2013: A Year of Peace Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Linus Pauling's Nobel Peace Prize."
