AbstractThe article focuses on the importance of strategic planning in order to manage the changes done to the libraries and the archives in the {U.S.} The library catalogs are important resources for research and access to book reviews. However, the integration of citation indexes and Internet databases has affected the contents of the catalog. This resulted to the concealment of special collections and rare materials which are not found in the bibliographical records in the online catalogs. The visibility of these materials can be solved by making the individual titles accessible through World Cat, a global catalog of library.
