2011 Chris Petersen set about learning how to do oral history work.  He
traveled to the middle of Ohio for a crash course in interview
techniques, field equipment, transcription software and much
more.  What followed was a burst of recording that transported Chris to
exotic locations, including Hawaii and the Valley Library third floor

The "Move Beyond Good
Enough" and "Work Smarter" workshops are...

I am pleased to announce
the appointment of Anne-Marie Deitering to the position of department head for
Teaching and Engagement Department within OSU Libraries and Press.
 Professor Deitering begins her new role on February 1, 2013.  She
has played an integral part in the ongoing development of the Libraries'
instruction program since her initial appointment to OSU.  She was named
the Franklin McEdward Professor for Undergraduate Learning Initiatives in
September 2008.  ...

kicks off with sessions on Publishing Your Research (1/15), Preparing Your IRB
Submission (1/16), and Intro to Data Management (1/17). Register for these

OSU Libraries staff will be doing system maintenance tonight, Thursday, January 3rd.  The outage will begin at 6:00 pm and the exact duration is unknown, but all services are scheduled to be back online before 6:00 am on Friday, January 4th.

Student projects from the
first Book Arts class at OSU, taught by Professor Yuji Hiratsuka, are on
display on the 5th floor of the Valley Library. The projects combine hand
binding techniques, printmaking, digital art, letterpress, and photography to
create unique works of art. Displayed in collaboration with the Special
Collections and Archives Research Center, "Continuum of Inspiration"
is on display through January 31.
