Libraries go to court: a review of recent cases. This
will provide some updates about the status of four recent copyright cases
involving academic libraries - GSU, UCLA, HathiTrust and Kirtsaeng v.
Wiley -- along with lessons that can be taken from each.

The OSU
Libraries & Press Library Faculty Association invites interested colleagues
to the April presentation in our 2012-2013
Seminar Series. The upcoming seminar focuses on
College Students, Technology, and Academic Workflows and will feature two
presentations looking at different aspects of this topic.

Feeling Stressed?  Come visit the dogs at The Valley
Library.  From 3-5pm on March 13th and 14th, dogs
registered with Welcome Waggers
will be in the Autzen classroom, ready for petting and playing.





Welcome Waggers is an all-volunteer group and their
certified therapy dogs visit hospitals, schools, public libraries, and now OSU,
bringing joy and stress relief to those they interact with.

The Valley Library is pleased to announce that David Moynihan has accepted the Library
Technician 1 position in Collection Management (75%)/Circulation Services (25%)
 and will begin work on Thursday, March 14. David worked previously as temporary staff in Circulation Services at
the end of the Spring term of 2012. He also worked here as a student employee
for about four and half years. David is a graduate of OSU, where he majored in
industrial and manufacturing engineering.

OSU Libraries & Press

OSU Libraries is hosting an online copyright
workshop, "How Did We Get Into This Mess? Copyright and Its
Discontents."  Kevin L. Smith, Director of Copyright and
Scholarly Communications at Duke University will be discussing copyright andy
explaining why the law has been so unable
to respond to the challenges of the digital age.
