AbstractThe article discusses the significance of the advent of digital technology in contributing to the ease in accessibility to documents in libraries in the {U.S.} The demand of students, scholars and citizens for electronic information stems from their want for a more accessible information. The government, for one, is trying to make available information at all level and at the same time keep it secure. The Government Printing Office is leading the struggle in the change in information storage, access and preservation.
