How to Use the Valley Library Laptops

How to turn on laptops:

  1. Take the laptop and power adapter out of the carrying case
  2. Plug the power adapter into a power socket
  3. Plug the other end of the adapter into the back of the laptop
  4. Open the laptop by pressing/sliding the button on the front of the laptop
  5. Press the power button in the upper left corner on the laptop
  6. Log in to ONID with your username and password (make sure the Domain is set to "ONID")

Tip: The laptops will go into a power saving mode when you close the lid, but they appear to be turned off. If you hold the power button down for about 10 seconds it will turn off; then you can turn it back on with the power button.

How to turn off laptops:

(Please leave the laptop turned on when you return it to the Circulation Desk.)

Unplug the power adapter, roll it up, and return it to the laptop carrying case. If the case has straps, please use them to secure the laptop.
