Valley Library Laptop Checkout and Use Policies

Laptops can only be checked out by OSU students, faculty, and staff with a valid OSU ID card and a second form of photo identification.

Time Limits & Availability

Laptops can be checked out from the Circulation Desk until one hour before the library closes.
Laptops are only for use in The Valley Library and cannot be taken out of the building.
Check-out is for 3 hours.
Laptops will be available on a first come, first serve basis. They cannot be reserved ahead of time.
If you have a large amount of fines on your Library account, you may not be able to checkout a laptop.

Overdue fines are $10/hour. Replacement cost of a lost or stolen laptop will be no less than $2,000 plus the accrued overdue fine(s) and $15 processing charge.
You may be charged if you tamper with security seals on the laptop.
Checkout of laptops implies agreement with the following statement:
"I agree to pay all costs associated with damage to this laptop computer or its associated peripheral equipment or its replacement costs should it be lost or stolen. I understand that the replacement cost for this laptop computer will be no less than $2,000 plus the accrued overdue fine(s) and a $15 processing charge."
