UO students have access to the University of Oregon Libraries' online journals. You will need your UO student ID# (95xxxxxxx). If you do not know your ID number you can contact Diane Pritchard for assistance.
To see if an article you need is available online:
- Click on the "FindText" button
on the library's homepage - Enter the name of the journal (not the article) you need
- Enter the year you need
- Hit "enter" or click the FindText button again
Another window will open. If the full text of the journal you need is available you will see a link to the journal under "full text". If not, you will see the message "no full text available for this item". If there is no full text available click on the link to "request this item from another library".
When requesting an item from another library be sure to:
- Fill in as much information as you can (dates, page numbers, etc.)
- Include your full email address
- Add "distance student" to the comments (after the pre-pasted "sfx" message). This ensures you will be allowed to borrow printed materials that the main campus library owns.
