Requesting OSU Libraries' Items
OSU Library & Summit requests may be picked up on the Requests shelf across from the Circulation desk. You may check out these items yourself using the Express Checkout stations located on either side of the Requests shelf or at the Circulation desk. ILL items are located behind the Circulation desk.
Requests, Recalls & Traces
Requests may be placed on general collection Valley Library items that are available through the library catalog. The item will be retrieved from the stacks and placed on the Requests shelf for you. You will receive an email when the item is ready for pick up or if it cannot be found.
Recalls may be placed on general collection OSU Library items that are currently checked out through the library catalog. The patron with the items checked out will have a minimum of 3 weeks (unless recalled by course reserves which is one week) to return them and will receive an email stating the new due date. The patron placing the recall will receive an email when the item is ready for pick up on the Requests shelf.
Traces may be placed at the Circulation desk on Valley Library items which are available but cannot be found. Be sure to check the stacks where the item should be shelved as well as the reshelving area for that floor before requesting a trace be placed. You will receive an email if the item is found. After placing a trace on an item you may place a request though the Summit Catalog (see below).
Items at Guin/HMSC and Cascades
Request items from branch locations using the library catalog or by calling the Circulation Desk at 541-737-2538. Branch requests may arrive in 3 working days.
Valley Storage Items
Most volumes in storage may be requested using the library catalog. If a volume is not listed online, call the Circulation desk at 541-737-2538.
Storage items are retrieved between 4-5pm daily. You will be notified via email when the item is ready for pickup.
