Scope and Content Note
This photographic collection consists of photographic prints collected and assembled by Herbert G. Fredell documenting student activities during Fredell's freshman and sophomore years at Oregon Agricultural College (1918/19 and 1919/20), especially the Freshman-Sophomore Tug-of-War and the initiation of the Vigilance Committee. The collection also includes images of the Student Army Training Corps; ROTC Company E for the year 1918/19, of which Fredell was a member (published on page 350 of the 1920 "Beaver"); campus buildings; the Corvallis railroad station; and the Corvallis Baptist Church.
Biographical Note
Herbert George Fredell, of Anaconda, Montana, attended Oregon Agricultural College for 4 academic years (1918/19, 1919/20, 1922/23, and 1923/24) and graduated in 1924 with a B.S. in Agriculture, specializing in Markets and Marketing. He was active in a variety of student activities including being a member of the Vigilance Committee for the 1919/20 academic year.
