Historical Holdings and Collection Descriptions

The University Archives' holdings provide information on the University's teaching, research, and outreach programs; faculty, administrators, and alumni; campus buildings and development; and student life. All major aspects of the Oregon economy -- agriculture, forestry, engineering and "high technology", and marine resources -- are represented in the holdings of the University Archives. The impact of major events and developments in American history and culture on Oregon State University and the people of Oregon are reflected in the Archives' holdings.

All permanent records (def) received by the University Archives are maintained in groupings or collections (def) according to who created or collected them -- whether that is a university office or department, a faculty member, an organization, or a private individual.
